The U.S. Senate Banking Committee is scheduled to consider the nomination of Lael Brainard for Federal Reserve Chair on April 16th.BlockBeats News, April 4th - A source familiar with the matter told CNBC that the U.S. Senate Banking Committee will hold a hearing on April 16th to consider Kevin Warsh's nomination as Federal Reserve chair. Another criminal investigation regarding the Fed is still ongoing, examining whether current chair Powell made false statements to Congress about the expensive renovation of the Fed's office building. Warsh's nomination process is still moving forward, potentially creating a conflict between the two parallel processes pushed by the Trump administration.
Banking Committee member Thom Tillis has stated that he will not vote to confirm Warsh until the investigation is completed, indicating that Trump cannot advance both processes simultaneously. However, by proceeding with the hearing, Trump appears to be attempting to achieve this goal. The Senate Banking Committee has not yet scheduled the hearing for a public session. (FXStreet)

F2Pool co-founder Wang Chun: BTC protocol upgrades should not adopt approaches similar to “bundled bills”Odaily reported that F2Pool co-founder Wang Chun stated on X that Bitcoin protocol upgrades should not adopt approaches similar to U.S. politicians using "omnibus bills" to force the passage of "certain necessary but unpopular clauses." This is also a major reason why he opposes BIP-110 and BIP-54. When responding to whether he had encountered any issues with fixes using BIP-54, Wang Chun added that the "Timewarp" attack has existed for a long time and presents no significant advantage for miners, since it is impossible to predict who will mine the next block. Its only practical use is to interfere with certain altcoins. Because Bitcoin miners gain virtually no real benefit, there is no urgent need to change it. In addition, block validation efficiency has already improved significantly due to libsecp256k1 and hardware upgrades, so no adjustments are needed at the protocol level. As for "forging confirmed transactions," this essentially relies on breaking double SHA256 collisions, which, if successful, would mean that Bitcoin's core security has been breached. Wang Chun concluded that none of the above issues are sufficient to drive protocol modifications. Currently, only the "duplicate transactions" problem has some repair value and may be one of the few changes worth implementing.
