F2Pool Co-founder Wang Chun: Bitcoin Protocol Upgrades Should Avoid Forced Approaches Like 'Omnibus Bills' Wang Chun, co-founder of F2Pool, stated on the X platform that Bitcoin protocol upgrades should not adopt forced approaches similar to those used by American politicians with 'omnibus bills.' This is also a key reason for his opposition to BIP-110 and BIP-54. Several issues under discussion lack actual urgency: for instance, the 'Timewarp attack' has existed for a long time but does not provide substantial benefits to miners; block validation efficiency has significantly improved due to libsecp256k1 and hardware upgrades, making protocol layer adjustments unnecessary; and the 'forgery of confirmed transactions' fundamentally relies on breaking the double SHA256 collision, which, if successful, would mean that Bitcoin's core security has been compromised. Wang Chun added that the aforementioned issues are insufficient to drive protocol modifications, and currently, only the 'duplicate transactions' issue holds some repair value, potentially being one of the few changes worth implementing.
