S&P 500 index closed roughly flat in early trading; consumer staples sector fell by 1.8%, consumer discretionary sector dropped 1.1%, technology sector was mostly flat, energy sector rose 0.5%, and telecommunications sector gained 0.8%.
The Nasdaq 100 Index provisionally closed down 0.1%. Among its constituent stocks, Axon fell 9.5%, Atlassian dropped 4.7%, Walmart declined 3.5%, Arm Holdings decreased 3.1%, Apple slipped 2.1%, Alphabet A rose 1.7%, Zscaler increased 2%, Western Digital climbed 2.4%, CrowdStrike surged 5.8%, and Broadcom gained 6.1%.

Bloomberg Dollar Index fell by 0.31%, hitting a new daily low at 1210.51 points. At 10:07 (UTC+8), it rose to a new daily high of 1216.36 points before continuing to decline. The US dollar against the Japanese yen dropped by 0.08%, quoted at 159.55 yen, with an intraday trading range between 160.03 and 159.47 yen, showing an overall M-shaped trend. The euro against the Japanese yen rose by 0.44%, climbing steadily since 14:00 (UTC+8); the pound against the Japanese yen increased by 0.35%, also rising steadily since 13:48 (UTC+8).
