Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs report: Grain yield per mu in China is expected to reach 400 kilograms by 2026
According to the report, it is expected that by 2026 the per unit grain yield in China will increase to 400 kilograms per mu, with the improved yield driving total grain production to reach 716 million tons, a 0.2% increase from the previous year. The annual oilseed production is expected to reach 42.04 million tons, up 2.6% from the previous year. The report also indicates that edible vegetable oil consumption in China is forecasted to decrease by 0.2% year-on-year in 2026, while soybean consumption for food use and dairy consumption will both increase by 0.6%. Trade and production of agricultural products will become more coordinated, with imports set to decrease and exports of traditionally competitive agricultural products expected to grow. Overall agricultural product prices will remain stable, with most varieties trending stable at first and then rising within the year.
