A new strategic acquisition of Bitcoin
Strategy , the company formerly known as MicroStrategy, has just made a massive new purchase of bitcoin. It acquired 7,633 BTC at a price of $97,255 each, for a total amount of $742.4 million.
Michael Saylor, the CEO of the company, announced this news, as usual, on the social network X. The day before, he had already dropped a hint by posting a mysterious message: “Death to blue lines. Long live green dots.”, accompanied by his traditional graph tracking bitcoin acquisitions.
With this new acquisition , Strategy now holds 478,740 BTC. It is the largest bitcoin wallet among all companies in the world. On average, Strategy paid $65,033 for each of its bitcoins. This aggressive investment strategy reflects Michael Saylor’s deep conviction in the future of bitcoin.
A thoughtful investment despite mixed results
This new acquisition comes just days after the release of the fourth-quarter financial results , which revealed a net loss of $3.03 per share. Despite these disappointing figures, Strategy continues its aggressive accumulation strategy of bitcoin.
The funding for this purchase comes from the sale of shares and the issuance of perpetual preferred shares of Strike (STRK), as detailed in the company’s 8-K filing. Strategy has shown a BTC yield of 4.1% since the beginning of 2025, demonstrating the resilience of its investment strategy.
The company is thus strengthening its position in the crypto market , with a total investment of approximately $31.1 billion in bitcoin. This new acquisition confirms Strategy’s long-term vision and its unwavering confidence in the future of bitcoin, despite market fluctuations.
