Trump: If Russia and Ukraine cannot reach an agreement soon, the United States will withdraw from mediation
Russia announced the end of a one-month ceasefire on Ukrainian energy infrastructure. After that, U.S. President Donald Trump hinted that if the two sides cannot reach an agreement quickly, he may give up his efforts for peace. "If for some reason, one of the two countries creates great difficulties, we can only say that you are very stupid," Trump told reporters in the Oval Office on Friday. "You are fools, you are too bad, so we might as well let go. Of course, I hope we won't get to that point." Trump said that he did not set a "specific number of days" for withdrawing from negotiations if an agreement is not reached, but he hopes to see rapid progress. "Are people playing us like a fiddle in my heart?" Trump said. "So I have to see the eagerness to end. I also think I see that eagerness. I think both sides have it."
