OpenAI requests dismissal of Musk's lawsuit against the company and its founder Sam Altman
OpenAI requested on Tuesday to dismiss the federal lawsuit filed by Elon Musk against the company. Two months ago, Musk sued, accusing OpenAI of abandoning its founding mission to develop an open artificial intelligence platform for "the benefit of humanity" and instead pursuing maximum profit.
In a motion to dismiss submitted in California Federal Court, OpenAI stated that Musk's lawsuit is the latest move in his increasingly aggressive actions to harass OpenAI for his own competitive advantage.
OpenAI's documents pointed out that Musk has since launched his own AI startup xAI and claimed he is "trying to use the judicial system" to gain a competitive edge in this field. Musk has not yet commented on this document.
