L2BEAT releases Blast security report: The team has no restrictions on the use of funds or puts users at risk
L2BEAT, an open-source, non-profit analysis and research platform dedicated to L2 expansion solutions, released a security report on Blast. The report states that Blast is a Stage 0 Optimistic Rollup based on OP Stack. Its core feature, which is also the main difference from other Rollups, is that their investment policy is to keep assets in bridge custody to generate additional revenue. This is achieved by using tokens deposited in the L1 bridge in various investment strategies. This means that users now face the risk of these investments. If everyone wants to withdraw their funds immediately, Blast may not be able to meet the demand. It is worth noting that although the current investment strategy seems very conservative and safe, the Blast team has no restrictions on how these assets are used. This means that they may be allocated to other high-risk strategies or may be abused by malicious actors, resulting in users facing the risk of losing their funds.
