The official statement noted that compatibility with new systems or services is no longer guaranteed, and users will face security risks and potential app failures. Saga was launched in May 2023, originally intended to promote Web3 adoption, and was co-developed by California hardware company OSOM and Solana Mobile. Despite an initial price of $1,000, later reduced to $599, sales reached only about 20,000 units, falling short of expectations. The device once gained popularity due to meme coin airdrops pre-installed in its wallet, and unopened units are still being resold on secondary markets at up to three times the original price. Solana Mobile has now developed the next-generation crypto phone, “Solana Seeker,” which was released on August 4.
