Ethernet's Pectra upgrade will begin testing in February, with the upgrade expected to hit the main Ethernet network in April
The “Pectra” upgrade for ethereum will be available on the Holesky and Sepolia test networks in February and March, and will include a number of improvements, with a particular focus on wallets and authenticators. If these tests are successful, developers will reconvene on March 6 to determine when the upgrade will officially launch. Some developers are now saying it could hit the mainnet in early April. pectra is a hybrid term for two separate upgrades, Prague and Electra, containing eight major improvements to the second-largest blockchain. The most anticipated of these is EIP-7702, which is designed to improve the user experience of crypto wallets.Another major feature of Pectra, EIP-7251, will allow verifiers to increase the amount of their pledges - from 32 ETH to 2,048 ETH.
