Musk Faces Another Lawsuit Over "Million Dollar Giveaway"
According to ChainCatcher, a U.S. federal judge has ordered Elon Musk to respond to a class action lawsuit involving a "million-dollar lottery." Jacqueline McCafferty, an Arizona voter, filed the class action as a representative, accusing Musk and the "American Political Action Committee" he founded of misleading her into providing personal identification information during the later stages of the 2024 election.
She claims that Musk and the "American Political Action Committee" promised to randomly select a winner of $1 million, as in a lottery, to entice voters in seven swing states to sign a petition. However, voters were never actually given a chance to win the $1 million, and the names, addresses, emails, and phone numbers they submitted were used for political data collection.
