Ethereum Foundation Executive Director: Today’s EOF discussion has nothing to do with the Pectra upgrade scheduled for May 7
Tomasz K. Stańczak, the newly appointed Co-Executive Director of the Ethereum Foundation, wrote that there was an important EOF discussion today, but there is a key misunderstanding that needs to be clarified:
The current EOF discussion has nothing to do with the Pectra upgrade scheduled for May 7th. The Pectra upgrade does not include EOF, nor is there any intention to include EOF. All progress on Pectra is proceeding as planned and is expected to be released on May 7th (EIP-7600: Hardfork Meta - Pectra [DRAFT]).
The EOF discussion today involves the subsequent network upgrade Fusaka, which has not yet had a schedule determined, but we plan to do it in the third/fourth quarter (around September/October).
