Rubio "Opposes" Trump: U.S. Will Not Expand Sanctions on Russia

U.S. Secretary of State Rubio stated on Sunday that the U.S. will not expand sanctions on Russia to avoid disrupting the peaceful resolution of the Ukraine conflict. However, President Trump posted yesterday that sanctions in the financial sector or secondary sanctions might be used against Putin. Rubio also mentioned that Russia and Ukraine are generally closer to reaching a peace agreement than in the past three years, and a peace agreement between the two needs to be reached as soon as possible. The U.S. has various ways to hold those unwilling to promote the Ukraine peace agreement accountable.
