Ethereum developers plan to increase the gas limit by 4 times in the Fusaka hard fork
according to Ethereum Improvement Proposal (EIP) 9678, Ethereum developers proposed to increase the Gas limit to 150 million during the Fusaka hard fork. The proposal was put forward by Sophia Gold, a developer supported by the Ethereum Foundation Protocol Support Team, on April 23.
Discussions on raising the Gas limit as a "key feature" of Fusaka were taking place at the recent All Core Developers Execute (ACDE) meeting, as mentioned in the meeting summary by Ethereum core developer Tim Beiko on April 24.
"To standardize client default settings and maintain this priority, we drafted the EIP. This is somewhat unusual, but not unprecedented (see EIP-7840). We plan to merge it early next week and formally conduct SFI at the next ACDE," Beiko said.
