Musk and Bessant had a heated argument at the White House last week
according to sources cited by AXIOS website, there was a fierce argument between the head of the US Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), Musk, and the Treasury Secretary, Besent, in the West Wing corridor of the White House last Thursday over personnel appointments at the IRS. The commotion caught the attention of President Trump and other officials present. An eyewitness said, "Two billionaires, middle-aged men, turned the White House West Wing into a WWE wrestling ring." "They didn't physically fight in the Oval Office, but the President witnessed the conflict. Then the two continued their dispute into the corridor, and another intense argument broke out," one witness said. Last Thursday, Besent and Musk confronted each other at a meeting in the White House, with one source saying that afterwards "F-bombs started flying everywhere." Besent criticized Musk for making excessive promises to cut the budget for DOGE, but failing to deliver. Musk retorted, calling Besent "Soros' agent" and accusing him of running "a failed hedge fund." According to reports, the argument between the two escalated to the point where they were "chest to chest" at one point, and it ended with an assistant intervening to separate them.
