- $MSTR is currently held in 814,000 retail accounts and over 13,000 institutions.
- With its recent Bitcoin purchase, Strategy achieved a remarkable 12.1% YTD return.
Continuing his Bitcoin acquisition, Michael Saylor, the CEO of Strategy, added another 6,556 Bitcoins to the firm. The latest acquisition, worth $555.8 million, was made for $84,785 per Bitcoin. With the purchase, the company now has 538,200 Bitcoins in its holdings, valued at $36.47 billion. Further, the firm showcases a 12.1% YTD return on investment, as of the date, solidifying Saylor’s commitment to Bitcoin as a core asset strategy.
Before the purchase, Saylor updated the ‘Saylor Tracker’ on his X profile. Notably, the tracker provides significant insights into the Bitcoin holdings of the firm. As of Q1 2025, the firm’s Bitcoin portfolio is valued at $44.92 billion, with a total of 531,644 BTC. A sizeable Bitcoin holding, which began accruing since the company’s maiden Bitcoin purchase in 2020, could now play a role in the cryptocurrency industry.

Apart from the tracker, Saylor revealed statistics, indicating that over 13,000 institutions and 814,000 retail accounts now directly hold $MSTR. Also, it shed light on nearly 55 million beneficiaries, having indirect exposure to Bitcoin, through financial instruments like ETFs, mutual funds, pensions, and insurance portfolios. This exposure shows the growing intermediation of Bitcoin into traditional financial markets, with Strategy, bridging the gap.
Strategic Bitcoin Accumulation and Market Dynamics
The continued Bitcoin accumulation is not only an important market signal but also part of a well-thought-out strategy. On a dollar cost averaging basis, the company is at around $84,402.90 per Bitcoin in light of its policy of refining Bitcoin on DCA without any further considerations of the market. Notably, the firm’s significant Bitcoin purchase was in April 2025, wherein it acquired 3,459 BTC, solidifying Bitcoin as a major asset.
