Aptos community proposes to adjust the staking reward rate: it is planned to gradually reduce it from 7% to 3.8% within 3 months
the Aptos community has proposed a new improvement proposal (AIP), planning to decrease the current staking reward rate of about 7% by 1% per month within 3 months, ultimately reducing it to about 3.8%. The proposal aims to optimize the long-term development of the ecosystem, promote more active participation and competition in the DeFi field by reducing staking rewards, and enhance the sustainability of the APT token economic model.
If the proposal is passed, this will be the first major protocol change led by the community after Aptos Labs launched the "Global Trading Engine" plan. The proposal is currently open for community feedback.
