Panama allows government public institutions to accept payments in cryptocurrencies such as BTC, ETH, etc
The Mayor of Panama City, Mayer Mizrachi, posted on the X platform that the Panama City Council has voted to pass a proposal allowing government public institutions to accept cryptocurrency payments, including taxes, fines, tickets and licensing fees. The first batch of supported currencies includes BTC, ETH, USDC and USDT. This scheme does not require new legislation but works through cooperation with banks to convert crypto payments into dollars in order to meet the legal collection requirements of public institutions.
