Bitcoin whales reduce Binance deposits amid tariff concerns
Bitcoin (CRYPTO:BTC) whales on Binance have recently shown a decline in their deposit activity, according to data analysed by CryptoQuant.
The Exchange Whale Ratio, which measures the proportion of the top 10 largest deposits relative to total exchange inflows, indicates that whales have been contributing a smaller share of deposits in the short term.
The 365-day exponential moving average (EMA) of the Whale Ratio, however, shows a long-term increase, suggesting that whales have maintained significant selling pressure over time.
This metric often signals heightened activity from larger investors who typically deposit coins when they intend to sell.
In contrast, the 30-day EMA of whale inflow dominance has dropped, hinting at a possible shift in behavior.
Analysts suggest this could either be a temporary deviation or an early sign of reduced selling pressure.
If sustained, this trend might have a bullish impact on Bitcoin prices.
Further data reveals that the total value of whale deposits on Binance has decreased significantly.
The 30-day sum of whale inflows dropped from $8.5 billion during last year’s peak to $4.9 billion recently.
This decline coincides with broader market uncertainty fueled by tariff-related news cycles.
“In conclusion, during this complicated period, it appears that Binance whales are not panicking,” noted a CryptoQuant analyst.
Despite recent market turbulence, the reduced deposit activity suggests that larger investors are not reacting impulsively to short-term developments.
The behavior of Bitcoin whales remains a critical factor in understanding market trends and potential price movements.
While their reduced activity could indicate caution or strategic adjustments, it also reflects the ongoing impact of macroeconomic factors such as tariffs and regulatory uncertainty.
At the time of reporting, the Bitcoin (BTC) price was $85,411.51.
