U.S. Vice President Vance: The U.S. and U.K. Likely to Reach "Great Agreement" on Trade
According to Odaily, U.S. Vice President Vance stated that the U.S. and the U.K. are likely to reach a "great agreement" on trade. In Trump's initial tariff statement, the U.K. was not subjected to the harshest penalties because the trade relationship between the two was basically balanced. Nevertheless, the U.K. now faces a 10% tariff on imports to the U.S., while the U.K.'s steel and automotive industries face a 25% tariff. Officials from both countries have been negotiating for weeks, initially focusing on strengthening cooperation in artificial intelligence and technology, but it may also expand to food and other goods.
