Fox News Reporter: NASDAQ may surge due to tariff exemptions, hasty implementation of tariff policy causes investor dissatisfaction
Fox Business reporter Charles Gasparino stated on social media, "The market's reaction to Tim Apple's tariff exemption is expected to be positive; NASDAQ may surge as the exemption also applies to Nvidia and other large tech companies. Insiders say that from a political perspective, this move further exposes the weak arguments of US Commerce Secretary Lutnick and US Trade Advisor Navarro - namely that high tariffs and other restrictive measures can 'magically' create jobs domestically. If so, why exempt those companies most dependent on foreign labor and parts? Investors and CEOs generally believe that this tariff plan is one of the worst policy rollouts in recent years. They all agree we need a new trade mechanism, with valid criticisms from the president. But it needs further research and thoughtful action, likely after tax cuts and deregulation take effect, but the result has been just the opposite."
