The cryptocurrency insurance company, Meanwhile, completed a $40 million Series A financing round on Thursday, led by Framework Ventures and Fulgur Ventures. Wences Casares, the founder of cryptocurrency bank Xapo, also participated in this investment. This round of financing valued the company at $190 million, almost double its valuation during the most recent funding round in 2022. Meanwhile will use the funds raised from this financing round for global expansion and to ensure that its products comply with regulatory requirements.
It is reported that Meanwhile's life insurance policies are similar to ordinary life insurance. Policyholders need to pay monthly premiums calculated by actuaries. However, unlike paying from a bank account or using checks, customers need to pay with Bitcoin from their cryptocurrency wallets. When policyholders die, their families will receive claim amounts in Bitcoin form.(Fortune)
