Eric Trump joins Metaplanet's strategic board

Eric Trump, son of former U.S. President Donald Trump, has been appointed as the first member of Metaplanet's newly established Strategic Board of Advisors.

This move is part of Metaplanet's broader strategy to become a global leader in the Bitcoin economy by fostering Bitcoin (CRYPTO:BTC) adoption and solidifying its position as a major Bitcoin treasury company.

Metaplanet's CEO, Simon Gerovich, highlighted Eric Trump's business acumen and passion for the Bitcoin community as key factors in his appointment.

"His business acumen, love of the Bitcoin community and global hospitality perspective will be invaluable in accelerating Metaplanet’s vision of becoming one of the world’s leading Bitcoin Treasury Companies," Gerovich stated.

The appointment is seen as a strategic step to assemble a board of influential voices committed to advancing Bitcoin adoption worldwide.

Metaplanet currently holds 3,050 Bitcoin, valued at nearly $4.1 billion, positioning it as the 12th largest corporate Bitcoin holder.

Metaplanet's stock responded positively to the announcement, with shares rising by 17.8% in early trading on the Tokyo Stock Exchange.

This increase reflects investor optimism about the company's future prospects in the Bitcoin space.

As a Japan-based company, Metaplanet is engaged in various business segments, including hotel management, investment, and Bitcoin consulting.

Its strategic roadmap includes leveraging Bitcoin-centric financial tactics to maximise shareholder value.
