Analysis: U.S. money supply growth accelerates, with M2 growth in January reaching the highest level in nearly 30 months
On March 16th, according to The Kobeissi Letter analysis, the growth of the US money supply is accelerating: M2 money supply in January increased by 3.9% year-on-year, the fastest growth rate in 30 months. At the same time, this is the 11th consecutive month of expansion in the money supply.
The circulation of the US dollar has reached 21.6 trillion US dollars, only 160 billion US dollars lower than the historical high set in April 2022. Meanwhile, global money supply has increased by about 2.0 trillion US dollars in the past 2 months, reaching the highest level since September 2024.
