Argentine Lawyer Seeks Interpol Red Notice for LIBRA CEO: Report
Argentine lawyer seeks global arrest warrant for LIBRA token creator Hayden Davis over fraud case linked to a former president.
Argentina’s LIBRA crypto scandal has taken a new turn as lawyer Gregorio Dalbon formally requested an Interpol Red Notice for Hayden Davis, the alleged key figure behind the token’s collapse.
The petition, submitted to lead prosecutor Eduardo Taiano and Judge María Servini, seeks Davis’s international detention and extradition from the U.S.
Dalbon, known for representing former President Cristina Fernández in a corruption case, argues that Davis poses a flight risk due to his wealth and foreign residence. Local media outlets Página12 and Perfil first reported the development.
Dalbon stated that Davis was very much involved in the creation of LIBRA and its promotion. The token, backed by the incumbent President Javier Milei, fell shortly after its launch, resulting in a massive loss of investors’ funds and political instability.
The authorities have also managed to seize approximately $100 million worth of cryptocurrencies related to the case. An Interpol Red Notice is a global request for law enforcement to locate and provisionally arrest an individual pending extradition.
However, compliance depends on each country’s legal framework. If approved, Davis’s notice would be shared with Interpol’s 195 member nations. The LIBRA scandal continues to unfold, with its impact rippling through Argentina’s political and financial landscape.
