The U.S. House of Representatives will vote to abolish the IRS DeFi broker rule
According to reporter Eleanor Terrett, the U.S. House of Representatives is expected to vote on Tuesday on the abolition of IRS (Internal Revenue Service) DeFi broker rules, which were overwhelmingly passed in the Senate last week with a 70-27 vote. The Senate's vote received unexpected support from Democrats, including key Democratic figures such as Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer and Senator Mark Warner. This rule requires DeFi protocol developers and decentralized application developers to report user transaction information to the IRS. The crypto industry strongly opposes this rule, believing it is technically difficult to implement and lacks legal basis. If the resolution is passed by the House of Representatives, it will complete the abolition process, marking an important victory for the crypto industry in regulatory areas.
