MegaETH set to deploy public testnet this week
Quick Take MegaETH’s public testnet deployment is scheduled to start on March 6. The testnet will onboard users from March 10.

MegaETH, a high-performance Ethereum Layer 2 in development, has outlined a structured plan for rolling out its testnet.
The project has scheduled its public testnet deployment to begin on March 6 — just a few days from now.
The rollout is structured in phases. The testnet officially deploys on March 6, marking the start of public access to the network. From March 6 to March 10, the focus will be on onboarding applications and infrastructure teams, allowing developers to refine their deployments and adapt to MegaETH’s architecture. From March 10 onward, users will begin to onboard.
The testnet phase will be a crucial step before MegaETH’s mainnet launch. MegaETH targets up to 100,000 transactions per second. Its architecture involves specialized nodes like sequencers and provers, which are optimized for high performance.
The testnet will offer builders access to 1.68 Ggas/sec (a measure of computational capacity) and 15 ms effective block times in single-threaded performance, the team said .
In June 2024, MegaETH raised $20 million in a seed funding round led by Dragonfly Capital, with participation from Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin, among others. This was followed by a $10 million round on the fundraising platform Echo.
The project also raised 4,964 ETH ($13 million) in early February through its flagship NFT collection, “The Fluffle. "
