The research director at Aptos questions Monad for alleged plagiarism, and Monad's co-founder refutes it
Aptos Research Director Alexander Spiegelman questioned on social media whether Monad had plagiarized their technology, stating he did not understand why Monad would spend a lot of time copying Aptos's technology. He pointed out that these technologies are open source and have peer-reviewed papers. In response, James Hunsaker, co-founder of Monad, refuted this claim by saying that he had been studying Software Transactional Memory (STM) in the Haskell environment for many years and BlockSTM is just a simple extension of these technologies. He emphasized that he has never looked at any code from Aptos.
