Tether, the largest stablecoin company, announced the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Republic of Guinea on February 17, aimed at accelerating the country’s digital transformation and economic growth through blockchain technology. This strategic partnership will focus on education, innovation, and sustainable technology practices, facilitating the transfer of international knowledge to Guinea and supporting the government’s “Innovation City” project. Tether’s CEO, Paolo Ardoino, expressed enthusiasm for collaborating with Guinea to unlock the potential of blockchain across Africa, while Guinean officials highlighted the MoU as a significant step towards technological sovereignty and positioning the country as a leader in innovation. The initiative aims to develop local talent in digital technologies and create an environment conducive to innovation, aligning with Guinea’s broader goals of promoting economic growth and advancing innovation.
