Analysis: Due to a large backlog of cases and lack of political support, SBF has a slim chance of being pardoned

According to Cointelegraph, following Trump's election, an increasing number of white-collar criminals, including former FTX CEO SBF, are seeking pardons. However, William Livolsi, executive director of the White Collar Support Group, stated that due to a growing backlog of pardon cases, the chances of SBF receiving a pardon are slim.

Livolsi pointed out that SBF's case is different from that of Ross Ulbricht, founder of the dark web Silk Road and Ulbricht's pardon is related to Trump's political commitments. Although there is a formal application process in the Pardon Attorney’s Office, there are about 10,000 backlogged petitions. Livolsi emphasized that decisions on pardons often depend on political relationships or media pressure rather than transparent processes.
