Google CEO: Quantum computing technology is like AI 10 years ago. It will take another 5 to 10 years to be truly practical.
Google CEO Sundar Pichai said that it will take 5 to 10 years for quantum computers to be "practically available," and compared this breakthrough technology to artificial intelligence about a decade ago. Pichai, who also serves as CEO of Google's parent company Alphabet Inc., said on Wednesday at the World Government Summit in Dubai that the current "quantum moment reminds me of the AI era of the 2010s, when we were working on Google Brain and made initial progress."
