Goldman Sachs: tariffs could have a longer-term impact on the dollar
The dollar fluctuated slightly as markets reacted to a new set of tariffs announced by Donald Trump over the weekend. A 25% tariff on all steel and aluminium imported into the US looks unlikely to be averted as previous tariffs targeting countries have been. Stuart Jenkins, an analyst at Goldman Sachs, said, ‘We think they will have a more lasting impact on the dollar, and the market hasn't fully digested that yet.’
