Big Balls launched as memecoin after DOGE controversy
Memecoin mavericks never miss a chance to create a coin from a viral controversy. Recently, these crypto bandits made another memecoin on Pump.fun inspired by a “Big balls” controversy of Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE).
The “big balls” controversy centers around Marko Elez, a 25-year-old software engineer associated with Elon Musk’s DOGE that is entrusted by the Trump administration to cut down government spendings. According to various news media reports, Elez has had a controversial past where he ran a social media account openly promoting hatred and racism against Indians.
Two days ago, when journalists questioned White House regarding the controversial social media posts of Elez, especially the one where he is asking to “normalize hate against Indians”, Elez resigned from DOGE on Thursday under pressure. The term “big balls” is originally credited to Edward Coristine, a 19-year-old tech expert associated with Musk’s DOGE. However, after the Elez controversy, the same term “big balls” is being used interchangeably for him as well on social media.
Some of his posts included “Normalize Indian hate”, “I just want a eugenic immigration policy, is that too much to ask?” and “Just for the record, I was racist before it was cool”. The Wall Street Journal reported it first and on this White House spokesperson Karoline Leavitt said Elez resigned.
However, Vice President JD Vance has a different opinion on this controversy. He supported Elez while disagreeing with his controversial posts. He also roasted journalists and said “We shouldn’t reward journalists who try to destroy people.
Hours after the big balls controversy, a memecoin by the name of “Operation Big Balls” was launched on pump.fun with a market cap of near about $200,000.
