Greeks.live: Options for BTC and ETH with a nominal value of $3.1 billion will expire today
PANews reported on February 7th that Adam, a macro researcher at Greeks.live, posted on platform X stating that today there will be 26,000 BTC options expiring with a Put Call Ratio of 0.58 and the maximum pain point being $99,500 USD with a nominal value of $2.54 billion USD. In addition to this, 203,000 ETH options are set to expire today with a Put Call Ratio of 0.46 and the maximum pain point being $2,950 USD with a nominal value of $560 million USD.
The market trend is weak this week as ETH's maximum pain point has once again fallen below $3,000 USD; during trading hours the coin price even fell to $2,100 USD which is its lowest since 2024. BTC effectively broke through the threshold of $100k after fluctuating widely around this price since late November when it broke through the barrier of $95k for the first time ever. The market is still digesting Trump Trade's impact over these past three months where delivery volume accounted for about ten percent total holdings; bullish option trading volumes have noticeably decreased while large bearish transactions are growing in proportion.
Tonight we'll see data regarding U.S unemployment rates from January and non-farm payroll figures - how these macro events affect U.S stocks is worth paying attention to as overall risk across all major speculative markets currently show strong correlation.
