South Korean police arrest 90 people for allegedly using crypto to sell drugs
South Korean police recently arrested 90 Vietnamese suspects for allegedly selling drugs in multiple bars and clubs across the country using cryptocurrency. The suspects smuggled drugs into the country disguised as coffee and vitamin packages and distributed them through Vietnamese-run bars and clubs in multiple cities.
Police estimate that the group smuggled drugs worth 1.04 billion Korean won (about $721,000), of which about 710 million won (nearly $500,000) has been successfully sold. Some of the suspects are illegal residents and 18 of them have been detained while the case is still under investigation.
