Gavin Wood: Currently, Polkadot's Nakamoto Coefficient is 149, which is much higher than Ethereum and Solana
Ethereum co-founder and Polkadot founder Gavin Wood expressed satisfaction with the decentralization of Polkadot in a recent interview with Forbes. According to Nakaflow data, Polkadot's current Satoshi coefficient is 149, which means that at least 149 independent validators need to collaborate to disrupt this network.
In contrast, scores for some other major blockchains are much lower; for example, Solana's score is 19 and Ethereum's is only 2. Gavin Wood also proposed five basic criteria for judging blockchain potential:
1. Resilience: A cornerstone of Web3, resilience combines cryptography, decentralization and game theory to protect the blockchain from attacks and ensure its long-term stability.
2. Performance: Not just scalability - performance also measures a network’s efficiency in processing and completing tasks.
3. Universality: The ability of a blockchain to support multiple applications and programmability.
4. Accessibility: The ease or difficulty with which users, developers, applications and robots interact with the network.
5. Consistency: A system’s ability to maintain fast and consistent communication within its network.
