US Senator Cynthia Lummis Mentioned Bitcoin in Response to US Sovereign Wealth Fund

US President Trump signed an executive order on Monday requiring the establishment of a sovereign wealth fund in the next year, but the text details of the executive order are few, only instructing the Treasury and Commerce Departments to submit plans for such funds within 90 days, including proposals for "financing mechanisms, investment strategies, fund structures, and governance models." However, Bitcoin advocate and US Senator Cynthia Lummis mentioned Bitcoin in response to this news. She posted on X that "this is a big deal" and used the symbol of Bitcoin, which excited cryptocurrency enthusiasts. It is not yet clear how the US sovereign wealth fund will be structured and funded. According to the New York Times and the Financial Times, the Biden administration also considered setting up such a fund before Trump was elected in November last year.
