$13.6B in VC funding boosts Bitcoin RWA and Web3 projects
Cryptocurrency venture capital funding surged in 2024, reaching $13.6 billion, driven by declining interest rates and improved regulatory clarity in the U.S.
This positive trend is expected to continue into 2025, with forecasts suggesting that crypto-focused VC investments could hit $18 billion.
The ongoing cryptocurrency bull market is a significant factor, with analysts predicting it will peak around 2025 or early 2026.
January saw a variety of funding rounds focusing on Bitcoin real-world asset (RWA) tokenisation, blockchain gaming, and BNB (CRYPTO:BNB) incubation.
Hamilton Treasury successfully closed a $1.7 million pre-seed round aimed at bridging traditional financial assets with Bitcoin.
The protocol specialises in tokenising assets like Treasury Bills and real estate on the Bitcoin (CRYPTO:BTC) network.
“Bitcoin isn’t just digital gold — it’s the foundational layer of future capital markets,” CEO Mohamed Elkasstawi stated.
Meanwhile, Gate Ventures announced a commitment of $20 million to the BNB Incubation Alliance, which supports early-stage blockchain projects.
Keplr Wallet raised $5 million in a seed round, achieving a valuation of $50 million.
The wallet allows users to manage activities across 250 chains and has over one million monthly transacting users.
Xion blockchain’s EarnOS also secured $5 million to develop its consumer engagement platform that rewards users with stablecoins for brand interactions.
Additionally, Starpower raised $2.5 million to enhance its decentralised physical infrastructure network focused on renewable energy devices.
Web3 gaming studio Hyve Labs closed a $2.75 million pre-seed funding round to expand its gaming infrastructure.
At the time of reporting, the Bitcoin (BTC) price was $100,550.
