Vitalik Buterin, the founder of Ethereum, stated in a post that L1 is expanding and highly praised all developers who are committed to EIP-4444, statelessness, client efficiency upgrades, and other features that can make higher L1 gas limits more decentralized. Pectra is expected to launch in March, increasing the blob target from 3 to 6, doubling the capacity of L2. In its view, the blob target should be decided by holder voting, so that it can be improved with technological progress without waiting for a hard fork.
