Cardano completes Plomin hard fork, ADA token holders can participate in Cardano future decision-making
PANews reported on January 30 that Cardano successfully activated the much-anticipated "Plomin" hard fork upgrade on Wednesday, which enables ADA token holders to participate in Cardano's future decision-making, including voting on treasury measures and hard forks.
. The core change of this upgrade is the full introduction of Delegate Representatives (dReps), who will vote on governance issues on behalf of ADA token holders. Previously, Cardano's governance was handled by the three founding entities of Cardano Foundation, Input Output Global (IOHK) and Emurgo, but now these responsibilities have been transferred to the new Cardano governance team.
Before Plomin goes online, staking pool operators need to upgrade their nodes and approve the upgrade with 51% of the votes. As of this week, about 85% of the nodes have switched to the new version.
