The KUNA cryptocurrency exchange has been blocked in Ukraine based on a decision by the Shevchenkivskyi District Court of Kyiv, as well as by order of the State Special Communications Service. As stated in the documents, the lawsuit against the exchange was filed by the Bureau of Economic Security of Ukraine.

According to the court decision, the providers restricted users' access to the domain name kuna.io and its subdomains on their own recursive DNS servers. Representatives of the State Special Communications Service indicated that the blocking order will be in effect until martial law in the country is terminated or lifted.

The founder of the Kuna platform, Mikhail Chobanyan, in his Telegram-channel said that the court decision was made in the absence of platform representatives, so they learned about the restrictions from exchange users.

According to him, almost all providers have complied with the court and State Special Communications Service's demands. At the same time, he emphasized that the platform's infrastructure is located on cloud servers in European countries, so only users located in Ukraine cannot log into their KUNA accounts.

Last year, information emerged that the exchange was studying the option of selling the business and held initial negotiations with potential investors. Chobanyan then explained this by high risks on the local market.
