Blockchain detective group TruthLabs has accused the co-founder Ethereum Vitalik Buterin in profiting from bitcoins seized from the wallet of Silk Road creator Ross Ulbricht.
Ulbricht, who is serving a life sentence for running the Silk Road marketplace, recently posted on social media that he did not issue memecoins in his own name. Buterin responded by commenting that Ulbricht's life sentence was absurd and wished him a well-deserved release.
TruthLabs insists that the bitcoins seized from Ulbricht's wallet were used to finance ICO Ethereum и Ethereum Foundation. They believe that the collapse of Silk Road and the confiscation of BTC became the financial basis for success Ethereum .
According to TruthLabs, Buterin knew about this as early as January 2014 and essentially benefited from Ulbricht's imprisonment.
Vitalik, yours ICO and your Foundation's wallets were funded by bitcoins confiscated from Ross Ulbricht's Silk Road wallet, TruthLabs wrote.
They also condemned Buterin for allowing Free Ross DAO be content with donations from the crypto community and other caring people, while he himself provided minimal support.
There may be no need for Vitalik Buterin's extra efforts, since during the US presidential election campaign Donald Trump promised to release Silk Road creator Ross Ulbricht if he was re-elected.
