Head of BlackRock Digital Assets: Bitcoin adoption is still in its early stages
On January 15th, Robbie Mitchnick, the head of digital assets at BlackRock Group, which manages $11.5 trillion in assets, said in a Bloomberg video interview that "Bitcoin adoption is still in its early stages."
Previously, Robbie had stated that "Some things happening in the crypto industry are a bit like blunders. Some cryptocurrency research publications and daily comments think Bitcoin is obviously a risky asset and infer from this that it's a risky asset and should be traded like stocks.
When we think about Bitcoin, we mainly see it as an emerging alternative to global currency. It's a scarce, global decentralized non-sovereign asset - an asset without country-specific risks or traditional counterparty risks."
