SlowMist: Screenshots of cryptocurrency transactions related to actor Wang Xing’s fraud were forged
On January 13th, the SlowMist security team released an investigation report confirming that the chat screenshots related to actor Wang Xing's fraud case circulating on the internet were fabricated. The group name in the screenshot is "Fu Mansion Special Group, Needs Party to Provide Collateral of 14,000 USDT." The screenshot mentions that Wang Xing has boarded the car, and the so-called guarantee fee is 14,000 USDT, accompanied by a cryptocurrency address for collecting the guarantee fee.
On-chain data shows that the TRON address in the screenshot has received a total of 2.22 million USDT since September 9, 2024, and the current balance is 91,000 USDT. This address has interacted with multiple malicious addresses and medium-risk addresses, and there is no record of the alleged transfer of 14,000 USDT on the day Wang Xing lost contact as shown in the screenshot. In addition, the chat time in the screenshot shows 02:46, while the picture time shows 19:46. The inconsistent time further confirms that the information is fake.
