The verifiable artificial intelligence firm Rena Labs raised $3.3 million in pre-seed funding, which makes up the firm's total funding to date.
Paper Ventures led the round, with additional support from other investors, including Lightspeed Faction, Eterna Capital, Lyrik Ventures, Mapleblock Capital, Selini Capital and Keyrock, according to a release shared with The Block.
Rena Labs plans to use the funds to expand its team with developers and industry experts and bolster its abstraction middleware, Trusted Execution Environment, or TEE, which aims to create on-chain infrastructure for verifiable AI use cases.
"In today's world, coordination is ubiquitous — from human-AI interactions to agent-to-agent communications and data-model relationships," Rena Labs co-founder Conan Yu told The Block in an email. "As AI increasingly permeates our daily lives, preserving individual sovereignty in the digital realm becomes crucial. Rena addresses this challenge by championing TEE technology, making intelligent systems trustless and verifiable by default and ensuring secure coordination without compromising user autonomy."
