According to informed sources, advisors to U.S. President-elect Donald Trump are considering how to reshape the leadership of the Federal Reserve, including appointing Fed Governor Bowman as the next vice chairman in charge of supervision. Previously, Michael Barr announced on Monday that he would resign as vice chairman for supervision while retaining his seat on the Fed's board. At the same time, advisors have begun drafting a list of possible successors to Chairman Jerome Powell, whose term will end in May 2026. Although Trump chose Powell as chairman during his first term, he has repeatedly expressed dissatisfaction with this decision.
