Trump asks U.S. Supreme Court to block sentencing on felony charges

Trump's emergency application requests that the court halt the prosecution until his appeal regarding presidential immunity is resolved. Trump's lawyers stated, "The Supreme Court should immediately suspend further litigation in the New York trial court to prevent serious injustice and damage to the presidential system and federal government operations."
