The U.S. Congress officially certifies Trump as the elected President, and Pence as the elected Vice President for the next term
On January 6th local time, US Vice President Harris announced at the joint session of Congress she presided over that members of both houses officially certified the electoral vote count for the 2024 US presidential election. It was confirmed that Trump received 312 electoral votes and was elected as the next president of the United States, with Pence being elected as the next vice president.
