On January 17, 2025, the first ever Crypto Ball will be held in Washington, D.C., in honor of US President-elect Donald Trump and Vice President J.D. Vance.
The event is being organized by crypto company BTC Inc. and Coinbase-backed advocacy group Stand With Crypto. Tickets to the Crypto Ball will cost $2500. No other details about Trump's crypto inauguration have been released yet.
The inauguration committee of the president-elect has raised about $200 million for the traditional event. By the time it takes place on January 20, donations are expected to grow to $225 million. This is a record amount in the history of the United States, including thanks to donations from the crypto industry.
So, the company Ripple contributed more than $5 million to the Committee, becoming one of the main sponsors of the inauguration. cryptocurrency exchanges Coinbase and Creak donated $1 million each. CEOs of major tech companies such as Jeff Bezos, Mark Zuckerberg and Sam Altman each contributed $1 million to the event.
The crypto industry has high hopes for the Donald Trump administration. During the election campaign, the Republican candidate said he would make the United States a crypto power and a mining hub. He also promised to replace the head of the US Securities and Exchange Committee, Gary Gensler. The unpopular chairman of the agency is expected to be replaced by long-time digital asset advocate Paul Atkins.
