Billionaire and founder of brokerage company Interactive Brokers Group Thomas Peterffy answered the question about what part of capital is worth investing in bitcoins in 2025.
I would recommend investing 2-3% of your savings in Bitcoin. For example, we [at Interactive Brokers Group] won’t allow anyone to invest more than 10% of their funds in Bitcoin because it’s too dangerous. It [BTC] has no underlying value. It has the same real value as a paper dollar, which is none, said Peterffy.
Thomas is afraid to invest more than 3% of capital in bitcoins and other cryptocurrencies, because the rate of digital assets is characterized by a high level of volatility. Accordingly, due to a sudden collapse of the coin's price, one can suffer gigantic losses. At the same time, Peterffy generally has a positive attitude towards bitcoin and believes that everyone should invest money in BTC, but not a very large amount, in order to protect themselves from catastrophic financial losses.
Employees of the firm BlackRock, which manages clients' wealth, are even more skeptical about BTC. They Recommend invest 1-2% of savings in bitcoins to minimize risks. According to experts, investing even 2% of capital in BTC is the same in terms of risk as an investment portfolio consisting of 60% of shares of the seven largest public American companies and 40% of fixed-income assets.
